“We have a secret in our culture, and it’s not that birth is painful. It’s that women are strong” – Ina May Gaskin
Birth can be a beautiful, blissful and empowering experience, and together we will prepare you so that you emerge feeling embodied, connected and whole. Doulas bridge the gap in your prenatal care by providing support throughout your pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum. Evidence shows that continuous labor and birth support provided by doulas shortens labor time, reduces the rate of medical intervention and cesarean delivery, and leads to greater satisfaction with the overall birth experience.
As a Certified Prenatal and Pelvic Floor Yoga Teacher I focus on functional movement and positions to support you through labor and birth, and to rebuild your core and pelvic floor strength postpartum. If you and/or your partner struggle with fertility issues, or are simply looking to optimize your health during your pregnancy, I offer nutrition and lifestyle guidance. If you need resources that are outside my scope of practice, I have an extensive network of birth workers who are happy to support you – it takes a village!
Schedule a Complimentary Consultation with me to discuss my doula role in more detail and to see if we are the right fit. Our initial prenatal visit will allow me to get to know your family, your home, your specific needs and your birth preferences so that you feel supported throughout the whole process. I support clients in whatever birth setting they are most comfortable in, whether that is at home, in a birth center or at the hospital.
Birth & Postpartum Doula Packages
If money is a barrier, I offer payment plans – just ask!
Our Prenatal Visits are 2-3 hours long and where we create your birth plan, go over labor comfort measures and positions, discuss nutrition and self-care practices and how your partner can be involved in the labor and birth process, explore breathing and massage techniques and prepare for the postpartum period. Our Postpartum Visits make sure you are adjusting to life with baby with lactation support and allow us to debrief and process your birth experience. If you purchased the Bloom Package, you will receive 4 prenatal/postpartum yoga sessions where we will do a pelvic floor assessment and work on strength and stability exercises to avoid incontinence and prolapse issues.
